Templeton is mostly known for her 'New Yorker' stories, several of which are collected in the 'The Darts of Cupid' --- as an Amazon reviewer wrote of that book, "What is true for all [her] stories is that the main character is always a complicated and intriguing woman, usually of foreign origin, who for reasons only known to her, puts herself in somewhat compromising situations." 'Gordon' (1966) is the most famous of her novels....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edith_Templetonnoochinatorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12584058407655395128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3752457333383090137.post-90805853301283696752015-06-29T08:53:59.787-07:002015-06-29T08:53:59.787-07:00Helgy, got it. The Beatles wanted to go back to their simpler days of recording, as demonstrated by your link, but Phil screwed that idea up by covering the songs with syrup and cotton candy. In his great memoir, "Burning the Days," Salter touches on his father's difficult post-military years. I can't believe Salter would have added to his father's misery by changing his name. He changed his name because he was publishing while still in uniform and didn't want his fellow airmen to know he was using them in his fiction. He never denied his Jewishness, but didn't want to be just "another Jewish writer. There are enough of them already," he said.
Patrick778https://www.blogger.com/profile/04330184973434926209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3752457333383090137.post-45565482275151694302015-06-27T12:20:04.998-07:002015-06-27T12:20:04.998-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Patrick778https://www.blogger.com/profile/04330184973434926209noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3752457333383090137.post-1541286962888002072015-06-24T14:02:35.981-07:002015-06-24T14:02:35.981-07:00What did Yoko Ono have to do with 'Let it Be&#...What did Yoko Ono have to do with 'Let it Be'? I don't think John (Lennon) liked it much either. Simon doesn't like Mozart for God's sake, pretty sure he doesn't like the Beatles. Maybe the perpetrator got a new face and fingerprints and stuff. Salter could have been a spy. He had a military background.
Let's face it, we really don't know what happened, do we? We got us some electrocuted bodies, some burning soldiers in a MIG, a few adulterers, a couple of sexually confused school boys passing in the stairwell, and Robert Redford sipping cocoa in the lodge. Hey, you make the call. Personally, I think the whole story is pretty disturbing.

It seems as though there's about 4 people reading this blog, when there should be 40,000.
